Many years ago I came to this country, not knowing how the life in N.Y. was. I was very excited to experience a new life. In the beginning I liked it, I had light, water and a refrigerator. It was a better life.

I missed my family, friends and the hot climate. N.Y. was very cold in the winter compared to now. It used to snow a lot. Finally I found a job, but it was very hard for me to travel, I got lost many times, and got to work late and frozen. I didn’t know how to travel in bus or train. 

Today we have better ways of living and good family and friends to help us with our needs. 

In 1976 we had a blackout in N.Y. and it was very scary because some people were breaking the stores, stealing and going crazy, and was very scary.
